Well that escalated didn't it Just got back from the mountains, between Mick, King and OT I've been pissing myself laughing for the last 40mins. Set of clowns the lot of you! Anyway I digress..... Proper Bury black pudding is up there as one of thee best or a close second. Best I ever had was in the haffners stall in Burnley indoor market (yes Mick it was steamed) and the best thing was I had a choice of lean or fatty... I took both drowned in vinegar

Someone needs to give them all a hoof in the sweets, a slap round the head and a one way taxi ride to a padded room. Anyway... black pudding is lovely They have something here very similar called morcilla and it's wank. My daughter brought some proper pudding back from Blighty and I cooked it in my local, for everyone to try and they all agreed British was better lol.

hambone 950
I just loves the black pudding, warm with a breakfast or cold cut into cubes with onions or cheese on cocktail sticks like darts/pool nights in pubs

Bosun11 537
Used to be a shop up Burscough St in Ormskirk about 25 years ago that had the best black pudding i've ever tasted. He specialised in it and there were loads if different types. Made fresh at the back of the shop, you could see the huge boilers and mixers from the counter. There were trophies on the shop shelves as he'd won best in Britain many times. Even travelled to europe and won in Belgium, France and Italy. We used to go in a pub in Pemberton Wigan, The Dog and Partridge, on a Sunday after working the dogs and the landlord Bill would have trays full of good black pudding, on the bar, for his customers to help themselves... Lovely..!! Best i've had over the past few years is from Bury market. Chadwicks are good and another which name escapes me right now. That Scottish stuff is shite, full of herbs, probably to mask the taste of poor quality ingredients and dont get me started on the Irish crap and that phoney white pudding... Arry 22,117
I love me black pudding and get mine for a butcher who get it down fro Scotland. He was on the television a while back, the door closed behind him in the freezer room and the lock was frozen and he used a frozen black pudding to hit the lock and get him self out. Did he take some stick or what. The Black pudding he get down is the best I can find down here as most other stuff has an over powering taste of Rosemarie herb. I don't know if White Pudding and Hogs Pudding are the same thing but I can't find a really good one. When I was young you could buy Hogs pudding in every butchers and it was good with peal barley in it. Cheers Arry
