Traders policy?

OK so Iv got a motor sitting on the drive log book in someone else's name. My own insurance is to drive my own car only. 

This motor has no insurance, tax or mot and I know someone with a traders policy, iv been told I can be put on his policy to cover me to drive the vehicle to garage for mot is this right or anyone know different cheers.

ad long as your garage is pre booked them ye okay as far as I can tell, some big words on there tho so not 100 % sure??

The chap with the traders policy should be able to drive it straight to a garage without tax and mot.the car has to be insured if it was you'd be ok to drive it straight to the garage to get it mot'd if car wasn't insured you'd get done for no insurance even though your policy may cover you to drive other cars but then you'd have to tax it online that's my understanding pal

Yep I get that and yes he can drive it to garage, just wondered if I can be put on his policy to do the same thing cheers
