Attempted vehicle theft

Recommended Posts

Son in law went out early first thing to go driven shooting and found that sometime overnight that someone thought that they needed his 4x4 more than he did. The side window was smashed and the steering wheel  was hanging off.  At least it was still there. We now have some repair work to do. He has had a situation before where some bloke nearby who had the same vehicle came down and took one of the wheel nuts off. Luckily a young lad noticed that some of the wheel nuts were missing and he had some spares. Son in law noticed that this bloke had his distinctive wheel nuts.  The bloke was taught not to do this and there has not been a repetition. The irony of this is that daughter saw a couple of blokes from the local p***y camp up the road eying the   vehicle about a week ago and last night thought that she heard something odd but the dogs didn't fire up so thought no more about it. We now have to sort this out. Scummers. Daughter and dogs will have to be re educated . It's a pity that you .can't  leave the nuisances swinging from a lamp post.

Not quite the same but bad none the less. Sunday morning 10.30am, heading off to the allotment. Bottom of the village is a hard 90 right and round it came the missile on my side of the road. Up the kerb, lost control, evasive action by myself, fckg hit me head on. No insurance, no licence and no permission to be driving the car. Fckr. My car a complete wreck and this smililing tw-t asking if everything is ok. Well guys, I reckon the plods had a sense of humour cause I was given his home address. Might not be smiling when all this gets sorted.

Had a transit sport type nicked about a year ago, same thing they wired it up to laptop and drove away. Thousands of pounds worth of tools and dog gear. Absolute scumbags

Some years ago I was on a site with a transit. I had tool boxes in the back as I was there to sort out mechanical problems on a tele-handler.  I locked the back door and the driver of the tele-handler asked why I had locked the door ?  I told him that my tool boxes were in the back.  He laughed and said that he could be in there before I had walked 10 yards !! I asked how and he gave me a demonstration.  He even showed me how to get the front doors open in about 5 seconds.  He said that Ford had done a mod on the front doors but that was so simple to bypass. The more modern electronics are more difficult but we have now gone into a different specialised situation with laptops and the mental ability to access the software.    Without disclosing what we have done they didn't get away with the vehicle but there is some lock damage which is a bummer but its all a leaning curve.  Although he did get to the driven shoot he said that he only went because he had a guest lady shooter and didn't want to spoil the day for her.  And he would have only been poking about around the vehicle which he hasn't got the spare parts to repair it until tomorrow. I told him be positive and don't let the b*****ds make it worse for you by spoiling your day as well.  I said that I would give him a hand to sort it out.

If he has a METAL box, USE it. If the car has keyless ignition start the thieves come to your front door with a transmitter unit which asks the key for a code. This box then transmits this code to another box near the car and bingo the car is unlocked and ready to start and drive away without any keys. Something like this 》》》... I  bought the wife a new Honda and that is keyless so we use a mechanical steering lock. Its a pain but there you go. Ps if he got it knicked and he said that the key was on a key rack the insurance might play up a bit. .... 》》》》

Faraday cage effect mate.

The signal gets through but is scrambled. Best is to get a wire mesh box (Faraday cage), put your fobs/keys in there and no signals are getting through, full stop!
