Iv halved my sugar intake instantly not easy I'm a proper tea merchant, given up the puff as well, obviously not smoking so that's half my diet sorted lol

It’s not rocket science, sugar’s worse than some fats in our food. Tend to only eat the good fats now, no biscuits, less bread, no pasta, always a decent breakfast like porridge with fruit on or shredded wheat, poached eggs on toast etc. I’m not saying you cut everything out, just moderation and being able to control your old habits. I have an app on my phone that scans bar codes on food. It tells you how much sugar’s in the food and is useful when you’re starting to look at your diet.

You can have a reaction and I did have a condition arise called. ... creatine kinase (CK). This is a condition where there is a lot of muscle pain and is similar to the body being crushed. This can release toxins into the body and cause all sorts of side effects. It isn't pleasant. The thing is that doctors are paid ( I  believe ) to prescribe these drugs to reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks and that is why they are so keen to issue them like they push flu  jabs. money in the bank . I have held the same weight for 15 years, I don't smoke and only minimal drink (don't have any liking for alcohol ) ( odd drink at Christmas or if we go out for a meal). Don't have sugar, use sweeteners, cut the fat off of the meat and keep the meal portions down to sensible size. I exercise fairly well and do the near 10 thousand steps ( 5 miles a day). Use my cycle to tour round locally instead of jumping in the car for short journeys . Look after the Mrs on a regular basis so all in all I  have done as much as I  can and enjoying life. One of the daughters is a staff nurse and says that a lot of serious, serious  problems that they have to deal with are caused by exessive  smoking, drinking and pigging out on big meals. It's sort of pay now or later. Yer pays yer money and takes yet choice.

I thought there was 2 numbers for cholesterol? Last time I was checked out I think it was something like 11 over 7 which I was told was towards the higher end of the "safe zone," as in just about ok. Been seeing chiropractor cos of a record shoulder and my blood pressure is spot on, seemingly ?

Cheers, D.

Mines been high since 2012 apparently docs taken all this time for it to become a concern, I'd like to think if money was a factor I'd of been on statins for years by now.

High cholesterol is a big factor in clogged arteries and raised risk of heart attack or strokes as stated there are two types. But if your condition has has been known about since 2012, I'd ask your doctor for an explanation as to what your current  levels are and to talk you through what your situation is. You're doctor may decide to have a new blood test to check you out and review the current state of play. Also have a read up on the correct levels and types. As for geting paid it's like the flu jab. Money in the bank.
