From memory it’s only rival was the bsa super ten .Overpriced but not fiddly to load .Those tiny rapid mags were fiddly in the dark but shooting wise ,rapid outshot bsa I’d say and shots per fill were 100 more .

Er ,don't  know what sort of Relums you were around. The double spring did nothing special. In fact it may actually have reduced power . Most stripdowns saw them replaced with single BSA springs .

Powerful they were not. That's  despite the adverts for " The  Powerful ,underlever  Tornado ,with double spring etc"    . The basic Tele/ Telly/ Jelly break barrel shared the same spring,piston and cylinder and average power performance 

Trying to tweak a Relum above 10ft lbs ,and I have tried with several rifles, leads to either hideous trigger weights or a dangerous hair trigger!

On the other hand ; every Relum l've known has been very accurate. 

In fact l was told that Relum barrels  used to be favoured by some custom builders .

A friend has an example of a model l've never seen anywhere else.

Basically a Relum Telly break barrel in .177 ,full sized cylinder ,but slightly  shorter barrel and a child-size stock.

The lads that owned the Relums were prone to squirting WD40 down the transfer port

i had  a 22 air gun well i still have it todey but some nob put a silencer on the end when i bought it so i had to cut it off as it was for a 177 so my bullets just jammed up in the end
