Sounds like the guy had egotistical problems to me,  throwing out silly challenges like that.

Not everyone is/was into numbers, and not everyone is/was gullible enough to believe all the bullshit, me certainly being one of them.

There were plenty of lurcher to lurcher bred dogs around then, that no- one really knew the real, never mind exact, breeding of. To me minshaws were just another case of exactly that

And where did I say nipper the coursing dog was in the pedigree? Plenty of dogs have been called nipper, including many many terriers.

I was onto my second lurcher when that silly f***ing challenge was written in the shooting news. I think I'd rather believe joe ox's words than yours, you clown

I don’t know anything about minshaw dogs or the lads that bred them, maybe they were peddlers maybe they went, but if the challenge was put out there and you didn’t take the man up on it you can’t sit on a computer years down the line and slag him off, or dogs thats long dead.

Haven't run the dogs down. Some of them look good, solid dogs, but so were hundreds of other lurchers around at the same time. Just don't see what's so special about em. And why would I take him up on the challenge, when I have no interest in competing with someone?

The Minshaw stamp that has  been mentioned.

To me all the dogs which had Bulpa in them who himself was half collie out of a full collie dam looked to me to have a collie stamp about them with a muscled up front end barrel chest look because of the type of fitness they had which related to the work they were given or the way they were ran?

Funny how the word peddler is constantly mentioned , when in reality , it was extremely difficult to get hold of well bred minshaw types .

Back in the late 80s early 90s it was not hard to get hold of a lurcher with a Minshaw tag attached to it, what would you class as a well bred minshaw?

I’d say something well tested and ideally something that had came from a few well known dogs . 

Much like any lurcher . 

Shame was that some of the better types weren’t really bred from or even at all. 

I’m sure you know the crack jo, and I can’t be bothered arguing with people who haven’t owned or seen a minshaw , but are suddenly an authority on some of the lads I know and dogs I’ve seen run. 

The line is dead . There’s nothing of any significant portion of breeding still around.

Which dogs would you class as well known well bred Minshaw? 

I have used the word peddler quite a lot because I know it happened.

I'd like to try that little kes bitch if she was around today little stick of dynamite also liked the look of that patch dog n his sister Chelsea n that Chester was exciting to watch good gearbox on him and jack was a decent dog still filling the freezer at 10 year had a chest like a steering wheel n fantastic boots on him he was a fighter tho n he n my saluki x got stuck into each other one night that I thought wasn't going to end well for both dogs but luckily both was ok I think a few could be funny like..

All bred from outcross with some question of pedigree but tagged Minshaw by Andy.
