here you go madfox....this bitch has some "Minshaw " in her shes a great grand daughter of blue....that's me she caught 63 that night ...just me and her.....3 days later I was out with her again Darcy

heres 1 more for ya...not the best pic....im on the left with the same bitch.....the young fella on the right is holding Don...he has the same sire as mine...a "minshaw " called jack...the dam to don

The Minshaw name tag is just that a tag used by peddlers, not a type or breed. Every lurcher in my kennels for the last few generations has had the blood of Bess a half x bitch running threw thei

Some years ago, Chipper invited LDR and myself for a day out on his permission. I, unfortunately, couldn't make it but LDR had a good day, with Chippers mixed pack of terriers and Teckels flushing the woods, and I'm sure LDR's dog Bruce took the only two roe flushed that day.

Days like that, with people like that, are, sadly, long gone.

Great craic with him, wether hunting or at shows.

Cheers.

I don't know the lads name, but he was ring steward that day. Wee Chipper Smith was the judge, and he immediately identified Moscow as a "Minshaw", even though he knew the type I keep. One of the games characters. He's the first person I saw with working Teckels.

Cheers.

That fella standing behind you is a local he is friends with the guy who organised that show, his name isn't Roberts.

just looking at this thread and this pic again and remembering Venus at her peak fitness in her prime...she was 4 in this pic...this pic was taken on the Tuesday morning after catching them through the night...after the lamping me and vin went ferreting just after this pic....I had Wednesday off ...Thursday night sore me Venus ...darcy and his dog up there again..catching with Venus catching the 42/3...Friday she had off and Saturday sore me and Venus heading out for a daytime race on the seed...on some big flat arable land not far from me.....she had 4 runs that Saturday morning killing 3 of them.....

about 18 month ago she damaged her nerves in her spine and right rear leg....which means she cant walk properly on it....sad to see her like that as apart from that injury her feet still look in great order...

Good pic tomo hypothetically speaking would you have a dog with minshaw blood again if the right stuff came along..

I was hoping Andy was going to have a litter out of Venus's full sister Swift......cos I fancied one out of her to something coursing type

also to answer that question properly......my goalposts have changed a bit as well.....I don't lamp as much as I did....so my little ferreting bitch is ideal well for ferreting ....but I could do with something a bit bigger faster to have a few daytime spins on other quarry;)

Thing is tomo he has always had that ego even when he lived up Chorley way but I think your mate and the name minshaw got to him so he set out do what he did intentionally with that youngster I believe he was trying the same with a s and Rosie who had the minshaw tag

Definitely as an ego.. he came over here judging a lurcher show told everyone who would listen kat was going to win the racing , he set the track up with a turn when most dogs would just be getting into there stride and a jump in the middle which he let kat jump over a couple of times .. the track was done to suit kat and the best thing about it she lost to a half cross bull ???? ..

It amazes me people hanging onto the Minshaw tag and convincing themselves they are going to get a better lurcher because its been tagged a Minshaw.

As I said for me personally it's just a name nothing more nothing less but when you refer to the name minshaw people know which dogs your talking about you don't refer to your own dogs as minshaw and that's fair enough especially with you having your bull bitch in there so to you yours are collie bull greyhounds your own stuff as you stated and separate from this thread but there's still other lads that like to think back on them as minshaws or minshaw types weather they have either good or bad experiences of them i don't think it's a case of trying to get a better lurcher just what people like or are interested in atb..
