gaza 508
Bit off topic guys but anyone use a lurcher while your out with the gun. Or just any dogs in general more traditional gun dog types etc. Would spaniels be a bit hyper and a nuisance while out with an air rifle? Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,558
Whatever dog you choose it will be a true reflection of your training gaza. My first dog was a brindle lurcher, Brett, a Jack Russell x Whippet 1st cross, he was a great gundog. The dog above, Kaiser, is a big German Short Hair, fantastic gundog. atb Mark. 4 Quote Link to post
gaza 508
How’s the lurcher bred mate? Is it just feathered game you can use him for, will he run in on rabbits etc or can you still keep him at heel. Looks the dog for the job Mark. Here what your saying about the training for sure Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
All my dogs present and previous will have absolutely no hesitation on any game gaza. Keeping them steady to game and good to heel/ stop whistle is very important. Good luck. Quote Link to post
C.green 3,231
Bit of everything in it mate. I wouldnt look for a particular cross just you need a dog steady around game that only comes with plenty of time and experiance. I dont shoot rabbits but if i did i wouldnt take the dog. He does point and mark stuff in cover in the day knocked a few bits with the catty. Use him alot on the pheasant and water fowl he comes in handy for the geese. 6 Quote Link to post
