I have a uncle who has one of those contraptions as he used to do electronic's ie fixing TV's and video's ill have to have a word with him and see what he say's .. the yaggi antena on the marshall is pretty long as they are but you can buy a longer one with extra fin's on them..

I will have to look into it as it would mean buying a couple of new transmitter's but i dont want to do that if it does not work or the 216 carries on working..

Millet

I didn't realise you was on 216 mate! to be honest though Millet I wouldn't worry until the shit hits the fan if it ever does! at the moment its hear say and may never happen. its no different that a few years back when they said Hybrids would be banned in a couple of years? its could well happen but I won't be worrieing until it does ;)....

all you would need is a transmitter the frequency coverage from 100 kHz through 1299.99995 MHz so you most probably could pick up anything 173, 216, 433, and find out when your neighbors are going to get raided by the police :whistling:

i used to use a scanner years ago for one thing or another and you can't use them nowadays to listen to the police cos there radios are all encrypted and all you get is waffle.

chris.

Chris what did you think of them, did you have any problems

A mate of mine has used a Scanner and Yagi for years and swears by it, if you look on this Marshall link he did a test caomparing it against the Marshall system!! the test was a bit biased but I know there was nothing to chose between the Marshall and the scanner...

Go to this link, click on Falconers Fair May 2004 down the page and click through the pic's from picture 14 onwards Darren Chilton with Garland tagging along did the test....
