Most xmas days sees me , the wife , her mother and my two kids now , nice and quiet as you can get. I love my mother in law, kind ,generous, she can talk all night if you prod her, but normally very quiet. A very strong old girl seeing as what she has gone through. She’s I’ll at the minute , so she’s not here until new year. Bless her , won’t be the same without her. My mother is direct opposite, she can give an aspirin a headache

Welsh_red 4,605
hate my mother in law. got a list as lng as my arm of stuff she has done. mrs dont really like her but shes her mum so puts up with her. shes round for a few days with her new bloke over xmas and im off out for those days. dont want to ruin kids/mrs xmas by telling granny to f**k off. mrs step dad(real dad is not around) and hes a diamond. real nice , slightly boring guy but treated the mrs as his own and spoilt her as a kid even thn mrs was a brat for him. hese nt down this year sadly my mrs gets on great with my parents. i know id say it because their mine but they are perfect grandparents. my mum does all crafts with the kids, painting , knitting , making things. my dad is a kid himself with the kids. went in 1 day to pik up kids frm him and hed made a blowdart with bamboo and needles complete with targets. had a scoreboard set up and everything . told him straight "this is amazing but dont tell my mrs about this, she will freak out" . its exactly the same childhood i had and i never apreciated it until i seen it as a adult. when dad said "you want to go make something in the shed?" it could be absolutly anything off there now for food. cant wait

martnmagik 68
Never met the mother-in-law but by all accounts she was a character who was hard to upset with a cracking sense of humour.. the old boy was someone I'll always call a friend. He never judged me through some hard times and was one of very few who helped me find my feet again. And he was a fellow rum drinker to make things even better. Rip bri my old mate. We miss you
dytkos 17,782
My folks are long gone R.I.P. Mrs parents are divorced but her mum still looks after her dad, cooking, cleaning etc. He's in hospital atm after a stroke so not great cos they are 350 miles away. Mrs went up last week for a few days which was great for them. Her dad is sound, ex field gun crew and has helped us out when times were hard, haven't a bad word to say about them. Mrs sister however, quite happily see her in a box. Cheers, D.

Up to the nuts in guts. He was ok but she was all righteous and disgusted. The mrs loved it and got a big buzz out of it. 5 hours ago, Welsh_red said: hate my mother in law. got a list as lng as my arm of stuff she has done. mrs dont really like her but shes her mum so puts up with her. shes round for a few days with her new bloke over xmas and im off out for those days. dont want to ruin kids/mrs xmas by telling granny to f**k off. mrs step dad(real dad is not around) and hes a diamond. real nice , slightly boring guy but treated the mrs as his own and spoilt her as a kid even thn mrs was a brat for him. hese nt down this year sadly my mrs gets on great with my parents. i know id say it because their mine but they are perfect grandparents. my mum does all crafts with the kids, painting , knitting , making things. my dad is a kid himself with the kids. went in 1 day to pik up kids frm him and hed made a blowdart with bamboo and needles complete with targets. had a scoreboard set up and everything . told him straight "this is amazing but dont tell my mrs about this, she will freak out" . its exactly the same childhood i had and i never apreciated it until i seen it as a adult. when dad said "you want to go make something in the shed?" it could be absolutly anything off there now for food. cant wait That's a nice relationship with Dad. 51 minutes ago, TOMO said: my wife just told me this funny story.... my wifes mate and hubby are sat down for crimbo dinner...loads of family there......the mother in law hands her son in law a Christmas card.....and she had signed it MILF.....silly sod thought it stood for mother in law forever.....aparantly the hole table fel about laughing ..her daughter had to explain the real meaning..lol I bet she did know the real meaning. Meece 1,957
Still the days are getting longer and warmer. Its a good job the mrs is the way she is and told MIL to keep her opions to herself or we'd have parted company .

smithie 2,443
I got on well with the mother in law before she passed. I would tell the missis "I'm away To ya mams for an hour" and I'd be pissed when I came home. Was only 100 yds away
