workindogz 0
in the last the last 7 months my 1/4bull jack has had more injuries than me in my life time and hes not even 18months yet!, hit a car(knocked out),hit many barbwire fences(gashes),hit a ditch(punchured lung),and last nigh hit something again(broken jaw), can a dog be too hard? he doesnt back off at anything when hes running he will run through anything and last night came back too me with a broken jaw, droped him off at the vet this morning . even with it hanging down he still wanted to be slipped. its broke staight through on the left side between the k9 and the hinge, the vet said jaws are quite tricky cause their curved and thin anyone had any experiance with this injury if so any info wound be great thanks alot WD Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Never had a dog with a broken jaw yet, sorry i cant help you, i hope the vet does his best. But, it seems to me from past experince, that some lurchers, are more prone to injurys then others. Their all different. Some allways seem to be in kennels with one type of injury or other. Its the ones that run without getting banged up all the time, that have room in my kennel. Quote Link to post

Paul in North Lincs 15
are you sure the dog hasn't got a sight impediment.......or is spacially unaware???? A friends dogh would colide with everything when coursing.............we just thought is was so hungry for a catch that it didnt look where it was going.........it later transpired that it had some mad eye condition (the name escapes me) wich ment it only had tunnel vision.......and could only see where itys ehad was pointing Could be worth getting checked out Quote Link to post
workindogz 0
they just called and are gonna put put a plate in there to hold it together and they said it will be fine once heald. i dont think hes got a vision problem cause he will spot in the daylight or down the lamp miles away and picks things up out the seat i think hes just young and eager and doesnt feel the injurys so doesnt care but hes costing me a bit the vet said around £500-600ish, so maybe a dog that pulls up at a hedge or ditch aint such a bad thing!
