Rabid 1,936
I can’t be the only one thinking this........ no1, you knew the fps when you bought it. no2, you know about grains of the pellet. I believe you bought that gun knowing full well it was way over anything you can buy legally in the uk, hence you bought it from abroad, I think you wanted an fac air rifle for whatever reason. You was grassed up, and police were told you had a gun, they obviously thought it was a big enough deal you had it to mention it, that tells me they don’t trust you with it either. A few days later your in trouble (altercation can mean anything from giving out a beating to strong words). personally, stop looking to blame anyone else, shit barrister, bad cattawiki, naughty customs or anyone else, I think your as guilty as hell and got off too lightly, you are exactly the sort of person who should not be able to have a gun of ANY description, folk like you give the genuine shooting community a bad name, in truth, you sound like the type of person you read who goes around shooting cats in his garden because he doesn’t like them or think it’s funny. ps, did they also tell you that you are now banned from from owning any weapon what so ever for the next 5 years, just saying so you don’t make another mistake like.........

Fact is your post is typical of todays society, its always someone elses fault! 16 hours ago, Darriel said: In February this year I decided to look for an air rifle and stumbled across an auction site called catawiki I signed up and bid for an air rifle a hatsan att 44 -10 its discription said Dutch version and English version 970 fps it didn't state what grain pellet but I at the time I didn't know. What difference that could make anyway I won the bid at £400 plus delivery from Belgium £35 it arrived some time later by regular courier I took it to local gunsmith who filled it I took it home and fired a few pellets put it away in a cupboard 4 days later I was involved in an altercation with my partners son they called the police and I handed my self in whilst in custody they said they had been informed I had a gun ( ex partner ) I told the police were the air gun was and they went to my house and removed it for testing in that time I contacted catawiki and asked if they had possibly sold me a gun that required a licence there reply was that in error they had not put in description about laws in my country and it was my duty to do this and they took no responsibility subsequently I have attended crown court today 20/12 2018 and with a shit barrister received a 10 month sentence suspended for 2 yrs 140 hrs community service 50 rar meetings ? And a fine of £320 pound to destroy gun I had no chance to tell my mitigation my life has been turned upside down why is it so easy to buy a gun from this site CATAWIKI with no questions how do I get my point across this is not right surely Oh dear, how sad never mind. Its only money, time and loss of reputation. Not much more to add to the previous posts really. Still it will give you time to reflect on what went wrong and how you can change things so that they don't reoccur. Firstly don't loose your wrag, (why on earth did you hand yourself in ?)3 and don't get involved with women who already have kids. Sorry.

It's horrible to sound like an old fecker but my sentiments exactly, poor me,poor me, he should have claimed he was fighting depression and got Bob geldoff and Lilly Allen to defend him, he bought the gun for more than its U.K. value from a site stating it was running hot, even ignorance and judge rinder would struggle to get him off, was he hoping for some magical loophole in the law that all air gunners no but won't tell him until he joins thl, or was he hoping we would set up a fund raising page on face ache to pay all his fines, thanks for the warning about this evil site selling exactly what there advertising and hopefully darriel can pull himself back from the edge of the slippery slope into a life of crime he,s been forced onto by these evil people, I heard Ronny and reggie began life with a webley hawk mk3 running at 12.7ft/lb back in the day

People in this country get very twitchy about anything that has a barrel and a trigger. Depending on your local force, you might get off more lightly if you're only 1 or 2 ftlb over and there are no other offences. But, getting nicked for scrapping and having an airgun that far over, they could have had his pants down worse to be honest. Darriel - you can try an appeal, it might lessen the penalty for the altercation but, it won't for the air rifle. ........ You made a mistake/error and got caught out - you're just going to have to take it on the chin. you no at least im out for christmas
