This lad was owned by a very good mate saw him take a good number of fallow

Saw a good few of this cross on deer, once they have a hold of them there not letting go ,this bitch was the same cross and she put a few away pre ban

The fastest of lurchers will be straight lined by a fallow at some point in their career if they run enough of them.

Best dog on deer i have seen was a saluki greyhound not the best hare dog or rabbit dog but loved deer and had the knack for them

As it goes i once saw a merlin and eve bred dog catch 64 cwd on the trot,i won't say 64 out of 64 slips as the fecker more than once ran on after pulling one down and once we had hold he'd run on and catch another.A big muntie buck put it's antler through the dogs neck and out it's ear one night and that was the end of that old dog, shit day time hare dog mind

yeh heard few times them ripping a dog up, even though there small still do lot of damage , my big dog chased one through a wood  and he dived about 7 ft in the air to grab it  on its head,  that was good size male, it landed  in the bushed and just vanished  in the wood , Buck went after it came back about 8-9 mins later but nothing , but what great bit of sport , heart in mouth stuff  for few secs  , carnt beat bit of mooching in the day, more so with my type  of dogs there great in cover and great finding stuff:thumbs:

If your living in the right area that's easy achievable with a half decent deer dog of any breeding, CWD are no big deal.

Munts are more challenging

Little beggers

Nasty little feckers, they can cause some damage to an unsuspecting dog.

Mature Fallow bucks in the rut could be a challenge, they could get nasty and were quite capable off killing a dog.
