villaman 9,982
I have a FAC licence for FAC air .25 and .22 with no conditions on it which means I can shoot these guns on any land as long as I have permission But I would like to have a variation for 17HMR my question is would this affect my no conditions on my FAC AIR ? I know I would need to have land cleared for 17 HMR which I do have 3 lots which has been cleared for .22l Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
How long have you had your current licence bud? Think once past 3years the conditions come off land wise and so also most likely would not be added Besides, won't the air rifles deal with the mice 1 Quote Link to post
lllluke1 329
Ask FEO best bet, but I don't think so. I have different conditions on my .223 compared to my .22lr 1 Quote Link to post

I have different conditions on my .223 compared to my .22lr I have tried to contact her by phone ,text and email for the past 8 weeks but had no reply from her I have also contacted the fire arms licensing and one said my conditions for airguns would be the same as it is and another said my airguns would come with conditions if I had 17HMR Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
I think fac air is usually open from the start, as are section one shotguns(apart from slugs), whereas powder burner rifles won’t be until you’ve got a few years experience with them. 1 Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
I don't see any reason why they should add conditions to your existing FAC Air. They can do what they like with conditions for a HMR etc if you apply for one, however long you may have had FAC Air! Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I reckon they they'll give you a "closed" ticket for HMR to begin with, but keep your FAC air is it is. Quote Link to post

Spoke to them today and my FAC air will stay with no conditions and 17 HMR may have conditions there is no open or closed any more , but with or without conditions Quote Link to post

Well they all have conditions, but if it mentions land deemed suitable by the Chief Officer, it's closed. If it's worded the same but doesn't mention him, it's open. Quote Link to post

Do you have a condition 5 relating to the gun itself? I have, and others relating to different guns and uses. Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,507
That’s an open ticket, if you have the land suitable for the HMR you will put this down on your variation you will get a visit from your FEO tell them about your land and that you also get invited to shoot other peoples land so a restricted ticket would be a bit of an inconvenience, I’ve never had any problems getting anything up here all they want to know is the size of the land and an understanding of safe back stops, I’ve got a mate in Lincolnshire and they have a few problems with it been so flat down there so with the centre fires you need a lot of land Edited December 17, 2018 by Stavross Quote Link to post
