jigsaw 11,863 Posted December 15, 2018 Report Share Posted December 15, 2018 just to maybe make you guys feel a little better on your deals ,my daughter starts work at 5.30 a.m. every morning and has to walk to work ,she is doing her lessons for a full licence and has passed her theory test .She got a quote 5 months ago from a well established company of 2.5k euros ,shes been saving like crazy the whole time and i said id buy her a chap car with test just so she could drive in bad weather etc,well she rang them last week and the quotes now range from 4,200 to 5,300 euros ..She 25 years old and has no hope of affording this ,,they told her she had a month to take up the offer but it has now been stopped ...this country is a joke..i am filled with trepidation when she leaves at 5 a.m. to walk the half hour to work in case she meets some unsavoury charachter or gets knocked down on the dark and dreary road she has to travel 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

We bought him an old banger as a present, but the insurance on it was over £4000. My mrs used the car and he didn't drive for the first year after passing. The second year it had gone down to £1500 which he paid, despite it being 3 times the value of the car. Mr brother in law lives in Ireland and said what a joke the prices are there.
