Bush Rummager 4,711
Interesting! I'm Kicking myself now for not putting something down to use as a scale. From what i remember, I'd say those prints were too big to be a Mink. Actually saw a Mink on the Witham previous day. Pic's were taken at nature reserve on the coast, off a small footbridge with a little dyke running underneath. I was thinking dog or Otter myself. Strickly dogs on leads at this place by the way. Greyman 28,627
Dogs tend to keep the two middle toes together and usually show claw marks, here,s some tracks I found this morning the one with no scale means nothing but things change when you put an item or tape on it, and here is a dog for comparison , another observation I,ve made is otters will not share territory with mink and seem to wipe out the mink as soon as they arrive in an area so as you have seen mink I would assume there are no resident otters in the area , Worth keeping an eye on as most animals are creatures of habit and will return to the same spot eventually so if it does just put something next to it like a phone or fag packet, good luck

Bush Rummager 4,711
Cheers for that Greyman I didn't mention there was 40 miles between seeing the Mink and and the spot where i took the pics. It's a shame I'm back at home now, that reserve is eighty mile away. I'll be back at some point though tooled up a tape and what not. Found this earlier... Otters are five toed, but ususlly only 4 will be showing in a print! So my money is now on an Otter Edited November 21, 2018 by Bush Rummager
