philpot 5,005
I thought the post office refused to take air rifles or are you telling them that it is something else. Parcel force is part of the post office isn't it. Phil Quote Link to post

villaman 9,983
Parcel force 48 will take airguns but do not pay for the extra insurance as they will not pay out on airguns if anything happens Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
I'm pretty sure that parcels only get x-rayed if they're going by air or if it's a bit suspect. Hermes prices are good but, it'll take a couple of days longer. I've always taken the action out of the stock and, wrapped it all like I'm expecting it to get thrown about, then lied about what's in there when I send it - it's worked for me every time Quote Link to post
lifelong cumbrian 1,826
Think you only get insurance to £100 and if you are giving false info on contents that will be void anyway and you might be braking the law as well, not been able to find what the law actuallty states on this, think you are supposed to sell face to face then you know buyer is over 18. j j m 6,540
ive never had a problem with parcel force posted lots of rifles, royal mail don't take guns so I don't think its worth taking the risk trying to use them Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
Not sure but your local RFD would surely act on your behalf in sending a rifle to another RFD. No way would i send a rifle of mine through the post if i could help it. I`ve received two rifles without any problem but i don`t fancy sending at all. Quote Link to post
j j m 6,540
my rfd charges a lot more then parcel force do for receving a rifle for me,only used them once 40 pounds Quote Link to post
