My little patterdale/whippet here in the USA.  She's about 14 inches tts.  Been on coon, possum, groundhog, rabbits and squirrels.

Quite right sir but a good biggun beat a good little un for effectiveness at smashing stuff

Yes smashing ??

And it will catch a lot more as one thing ive noticed with the few bull/whippets ive seen is they lack any serious pace when compared to a decent bull/greyhound

Well depends what you need spose

Well they are supposed to be for catching things so id suppose youd want as much speed as possible.

I know what your saying mate but bot many folks breeding half decent bull x that are on the small side. The smaller dogs do me for the bit of messing on this that and the other.

Quite possibly but then you got 34 bull grey

Coursing dog x bull grey Sal bull grey

All faster than straight bull greyhound so straight line speed can't be everything

Me too but the lad asked if the bull whip lacked the power of the bull grey which is a no brainer if it's giving away 30 pound odd

Pinave what are them groundhogs like ? Met a feller over here says there harder than any uk qaurry for a terrier/small dog

Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge of what you guys have over in the UK to compare to what we have.  They can get quite big--I have some pictures, but don't know if I'm allowed to post?  What I do know, in my limited experience, they are the best test for a dog in the area where I'm at (east coast).   The settes are complicated, can get very tight, and they put up a good fight.  They can also back fill and trap a dog.  Because of these different factors, for me, they are a great quarry to test our dogs on.
