the reason for my post was not to cause offence or even much discution ....I like to see traditional type things and glad that they are still being made and used .....

but when you think how simple them frog things are... just bar bent in to a spring....it just boggles my mind we didn't think of it...

kania is similar as well if you think about it....just the box on the back

I get you mate. ?

Elm was apparently a wood of preference for the mole traps of old. So finally managed to get one made. This bit of hill grazing i usually just leave the moles be, but the farmer insists they are caugh

& another,...now im not an expert (like some ?) but there doesnt seem any struggle, or the mole 'fighting' in these traps here ?

I find it fascinating that here in britian the home of great engineers and the birth place of the industrial revalution that we made these complex traps with all the moving parts...and all the work in

How anyone approaches mole catching IS a personal thing, is it not ? well, it is for me anyway,.....ive been catching many years now, & in all types of situations, & soil types, mainly using just one trap type (at any one time),......(except on that RARE occasion where your usual trap won't suffice, perhaps) & that's been challenge enough for me !   lol & that last bit you put,.....i only said I wasn't interested in them ? ?

Well I accept it’s a very personal thing

something I said in the previous thread

you have however made several remarks that intimate you think they’re (the Putange) inhumane

you even made a sly dig in the previous post

ive said before I’m happy for anyone to use what ever they want provided it kills humanely

so that’s why I pulled you up

you haven’t only said you aren’t interested in them

you’ve constantly doubted their power and killing ability

seems a strange thing to do having never handled them and when I offered you some of mine to try you weren’t interested

I will continue to comment as a see fit ! & what about it ? ,...& im also not bothered whatever you want to say ,.....however , if YOU have got a genuine problem , grievance with me, then you should maybe try & do something about it pal, if you feel it would help resolve it,  you know where i am....otherwise 'dry your f***ing eyes' or something

(look it up) if your that way inclined,.......otherwise 'dry your f***ing eyes' or something

Lol

do f**k off dear

I merely pointed out it’s hypocritical to comment on something you’ve never used then you start ripping your shirt off and offering me outside

lay off the bucky ducky

youre talking in riddles again

Hi Im new and just finding my way round this forum.

Whats best for the trap or method to catch a trap shy mole? Im no expert but caught enough on my own land and offered to clear a messy field for a neighbour. The first took a week to catch but three weeks latter and £10 of fuel used going back and forth, all I get is earth filled traps and new mole hills. I use Duffus flat pack and scissor traps.

Thanks both. I trapped him with a Talpex! first mole with this type trap ever. I feel like putting up a flag or something. Chuffed!

On Putanges. If I buy some from ebay without knowing the brand is it worth it or are they likely to be junk?

Likely to be junk mate

google U.K. putange

theres only one company selling them and they come in tens

all others are copies and junk
