eastcoast 4,194
After years of research I finally found out when, and where from my family 1st left Ireland. 1873 from Ballinamore in Co. Leitrim. One day I decided to pack the dog and a few other essentials into the car and go on a little pilgrimage. A beautiful place now but would not have been so at the time. That still quietly resonates. I came across this more recent memorial with the family name on it and could not resist a picture on the "ancestral seat". No disrespect intended to the lady who's memory it is actually in.
