jigsaw 11,863
Yeah i know...i am doing my best not to ring and find out the price lol...i miss my old goat hunting companion...i was thinking a pure could be a handy replacement.. Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
Taz was a 1 st x and thats what has me thinking do i have the time and work for a pure...taz was a very alert driven bitch.you could never tire her and i shot over her with both rimfire and centrefire and shotgun....fur and feather....i ferreted her to the age of 8 years old until the rabbit population dissapeared in decent numbers...on her off time she was a very relaxed and easy going girl...on that basis id hope a pure would be similar in temperament.....hope being the only thing im relying on 1 Quote Link to post

Phil Lloyd 10,738
The Working Kelpie is my favorite canine breed... However, I learned many years ago, to try and locate someone who owns a pure ACD, Kelpie, or even a Beardie Collie,...and to utilize the services of their dog to produce a working style lurcher, as opposed to purchasing a purpose-bred herder myself. These dogs have been selectively bred to fulfill a serious task and they do require a fair bit of mental stimulation and vigorous physical activity. In saying this,.I do love the real thing....... 4 Quote Link to post

Considering my great age and failing health, I feel it would be irresponsible to take on either of these fairly unique, purpose-bred canines... I'm quite content walking my wee Cur around the local park... 1 Quote Link to post

Night Walker 591
Go for the lurcher type over the pure bred mate, still plenty of drive with a little less full on and an off switch 1 Quote Link to post
