Got a new to me diopter

Living 100 meters off the german border can have its advantages.

The next german gunsmith is a 15 minute bicycle ride from our house.

He dough out this used diopter. I bought it for 50 euros. And I bought a new gadget:

this unit has:

1: a variable iris opening 

2: a build in .75 magnification

3: a build in dioptrin, so you dont need your glasses.

Guess what....I Can See!!!!!!

 

I can now see the pelletholes on the target card. (Yes, I have a pair of glasses, but I dont know where they are, Im too stubborn to wear them). Its a whole new world looking through the diopter. But I now also realise how bad my vision is

I like that very much. Never seen one like that and ideal to set up zero on the diopter which I found quite difficult to be accurate.

Looks like a nice piece. I haven’t used a diopter of any kind since I had my old sharp many years ago.

Just found out, there is a new 'Bell Target' shooting venue near to me starting up so if it becomes a regular fixture, I will have to buy another Mk1 / 2, AA 200T rifle and diopter sight and if I do, I really want one of these above but no idea if I can get one in the UK.

Ist hard to come by these diopterd, certainly if you dont wanna spend all your money.

If you cant find em in the uk ... Just gimme a shout....ill help you get them from holland or germany
