postie 427
After a bit of advice folks... In the last week or so I must of had a dozen traps plugged up...I've had both putanges and tunnel traps filled. I've trapped this field a couple of times before with success. Any ideas welcome.. postie Quote Link to post
LuckOrJudgement 437
Get a Talpex in there. Change the trap locations regularly. Try the Putangues on their side. I sympathise. I have a mole in a garden at the moment that's doing the same. Been doing it for a month!! Occasionally you get a devious little fecker that does yer head in. 1 Quote Link to post
tilimangro 1,013
As above most importantly move your Putanges to the main runs amd them in very straight runs pegged down tight open them on the wider setting if the tunnel allows it Back filling is the mole hitting a part of the trap and going under Quote Link to post
postie 427
Thanks for the advice lads... LOJ...I've caught 3 from her garden, hopefully that's it mate. Tilimangro...I didn't realise that's what they did. Next time I have one I'll check mate. 1 Quote Link to post
LuckOrJudgement 437
Postie, this one took 4 weeks to catch. Very small garden bordered on 3 sides by a brick wall. He'd been operating next door where there was no permission to trap, and only making occasional raids on my customers lawn via, I assume, a fault or tunnel somewhere in the wall footing. As previously stated in this thread he was a real devious trap avoider and his demise was down to dumb luck on my part. This putangue was set vertically in a tunnel that went straight down, about eight inches below the turf. When I pulled it out, I was bemused to find the mole in this position until further investigation revealed he'd actually broken into the run from an adjacent tunnel, between the jaws and just above the traps trigger! So basically death by misadventure for the mole and a long awaited payday for me. Just goes to show the importance of persistance and the versatility of Putangues. 6 1 Quote Link to post

tilimangro 1,013
Often use Putanges in vertical runs like that or turn them sideways in normal tunnels to catch a tricky customer 3 Quote Link to post
