I know when I had my spaniels in kennel I used straw would take the top off leaving most of it down and chuck more on top but that was to keep the warm in mostly

Depending on where you live....Corpak at Glossop do shredded paper, they deliver to the dog track near me (Sheffield).....if theres a track near you maybe they deliver there.

I can get any amount of shredded paper free from an office block but I only use it in young pups beds with wood shavings on outer floor. Shredded paper is messy to clean up and sticks in every nook and cranny. I prefer oaten straw ( no dust or chaff ) in older dogs beds.

Paper here now am going to put a plywood divider in the Kennel and put paper behind it how deep do you bed um up ?

It depends on your dogs ability to cope with the cold mate. But I generally pile it in and let them decide whether to lay on top or bury into it ........
