andykllhr 91
Morning Guys, I bought the .17 HMR variant at the weekend and got to say I am very impressed, put it next to a CZ455 and in my opinion the T1X was leagues above, short throw bolt is like butter and the single stage trigger breaks like glass. I'm very happy with it, and if I recall, it's cheaper than the CZ, though I may be wrong. 2 Quote Link to post

It’s a cracking rifle Andy I also have the 17, looks and feels great, can’t fault them for the price tag gave mine a run out last night and certainly didn’t let me down 1 Quote Link to post

Compared to a cz452 I’m not so sure. The 452 is so strongly engineered it’s tough to beat in that price range. If you look closely at the 455 compared to the 452 you can see where they kept the cost down. I didn’t like the look of the magazine on the t1x though. I don’t know what it’s like in use, but it looks and feels cheap and brittle to me, although the trigger felt nice. Only time will tell if it’s the tough as hell workhorse that the 452 was and still is. Just my opinion of course . 4 Quote Link to post

Mines in 22. The mag on the T1X does feel and look cheap but so far it’s preformed ok, just make sure you keep it lubricated. I had an issue with the round not entering the chamber correctly a few times. May have just been me though? I could have bought another Cz in 17 but purchasing a new tikka for just under £500 was worth it. 2 Quote Link to post

The TX is NOT Leagues above the CZ doing that, I will be amazed if there is any difference at all. If it has a smoother action, looks better, whatever, then fine, being better in things that don't make it any more accurate doesn't put it leagues above anything as far as I am concerned, all I'm interested in when I have a rifle is accuracy, repeatability and reliability! Let me be clear, I am not knocking the T1X, I'm sure it is a very fine rifle, but so is CZ, and it offers me nothing more than a CZ in the important areas, and relatively, like for like the Tikka is more expensive than the CZ! Yeah, hence why I said "in my opinion", side by side the T1X felt like a superior product "to me". I'm not knocking anyone else's choice of rifle, or their ability to hit a target, just sharing my experience Quote Link to post

I'm not knocking anyone else's choice of rifle, or their ability to hit a target, just sharing my experience I pay alot of attention to how a rifle comes to my shoulder. No interest in shooting rested, any rifle can be mounted for that. No it's when shooting off hand a rifle for me has to fit just nice. Nothing beats a Winchester 94 for fluently coming to my shoulder for an off hand shot. My Brno just sits there so it came home. My 452 fits well. Many a center fire rifle has been way to long in the stock for me. Great off a bench, useless in the field if you don't want to carry aids to help with a steady aim! Enjoy your rifle. Look right from here. U. 2 Quote Link to post
