Guard dogs

For those who have experience with German shepherd's, our dog, that's from working lines, turned out to be a right pain in the hole, he never settled in to a pattern of behaviour, he did some things you'd not expect him to do, and basically he turned me off shepherd's for life... He was at times very good at guarding, and other time switched completely off, and then other times I'd have a mate in the kennel and out of the blue he'd become defensive and focus on my mate even though I was there, one shout and he'd stop but I had to keep an eye on the prick the whole time... He focused on people at times when there was no need, my late mother in law being one, even though he knew her well, it was a one off but a step too far for me,... I have to say I ended up hating the stupid mutt, he became aggressive towards my own dogs and if a bitch came in heat, he was a time bomb..... I will NEVER  have another, as good a deterrent as he is, he used to sleep outside his box at times, freezing cold, snow, didn't matter, lol... Just thought I'd put it out there and see what experienced folks made of it

Feck feeding another dog , just put up a couple of Isis flags .. got the police watching my house 24/7 now ?

I married a Northern lass good with kids bit agressive around house & can cook. No one visits anymore. Atb

If you want a yard dog and something to guard your kennels i personally dont think you can beat a well bred bandog type.Naturally territorial, generally not dog aggressive if properly socialised, physic

He got on with no dog I owned,,,, he was prone to attacking my dogs without warning, he killed 2 terriers on me on different occasions. Proper basted he was

I don't know if that's typical though. My Mum & Dad had a German Shepherd that was from police lines when I was a little one and he was pappy as hell with other dogs.

Well  , I am no expert on the breed, but I do know a bloke, who was a dog handler in the RAF, for 30 years, and help pick gsd pups for the police,  so obviously. He knows the breed gsd, and he worked bel mals as well.  He seen Buck my 1x gsd grey, and said his temp was brill, he liked about him that, he was big daft thing with people/dogs, but flick of a switch he be full on when running quarry. He liked his gsds to be the same attitude,, only guard when they have to. He showed me a bel mal doing bit of tug work with him, the dog was only 70 lb, but  feckin strong dog, he  said Buck be twice as strong as him,  count your self lucky he daft with people, or you have very dangerous dog. It's all down to breeding  he told me,  you got to get the right working lines, and try to pick the right pup for you, all pups will be differnt in a litter like any other dogs, some bold, some., nervy etc,  Buck dam was nice easy going type gsd, she guard. But relax once you told her to, a black 24 in  bitch  nice dog. To be honest mate, if wanted a gusrd/watch dog, I just get  a dog from the pound, x bred collie or x bred gsd,  be more stable temp, and still do good job. Plenty of gsd x types down scrap yards etc, be healthy. And prob better temps, as there not inter bred like alot of the pure gsd lines, that's what I do mate. Get good old type mongrel gsd, x bred or collie type?

I'll never have another, Ray, I've a saluki x and a pure and they are good at making a scene when someone's about, I'll settle for that now

We had a gsd gaurddog at work that was a complete tosser , could be in its run feeding it and if someone walked past who it thought was higher up in the 'pack' than you, it'd have you .. if you had it out in the yard and it stumbled upon you working without you seeing him he'd have you .. he was the most sneakiest wanker going , I could walk it round the village not a bother out of it soon as I got back to the yard it'd turn on me if it seen the night watch man FFS

that sounds a nightmare mate, if i had any type dog like that, no doubt about, alot of gsds have got bad reputation , infact they were the bad dog  , before the rottie , apbt  came on the scene  , and you can see why deff when you read about them on here and few other places . i think said on here before  , few years ago  where i moved to, there was bloke got a pure long coat gsd , it was always ready to go at a dog, and if you went up to the bloke, the dog stat growling and glare at you, was big sable colour scare the shit out of most people me included lol. well one day it had pop at Buck, Buck not a fighter he soft with dog and people , well the bloke called it back , it started to run to him, when Buck ran after it , though what you doing you soft prat, well he closed right down to it, and put his head over the top the the dogs neck , and spun it over on the floor like he would quarry lol , the bloke went ape  shit , that thing should be on a lead and muzzle  bollocks , i said you didnt say that when flew at my dog, so fook off ,  if sees me now , he keeps well away lol

FB_IMG_1589477163366.jpg

Looks just like I would imagine thanks.Hope it works for them. Some catahoulas are catchy but they are bred to bay as a breed so it may depend on bloodline.

If you hear that it has bitten It s owner then tell him to bite him in return on the ear and piss in his water bowl.Works Everytime ?Damn them Cajuns?

A bitch down at my mates house/yard. He had a few people mooching around one night and it put the shits up his mrs so he decided to invest in a guard. She can’t run loose in day while people are around but once afternoon comes she’s let free to roam and I deffinatley wouldn’t be one to enter if she was loose. Penda bred this bitch it’s litter sister to his bitch and his bitch also does a good job and wouldn’t enter his back yard without him either EFC421EC-0852-4114-B81B-435A38B7DCC5.jpeg.9c99a07e08493c4d21c657d13423284f.jpeg
