Dog men have talked about owning dogs that were man biters, Zebo is an example of a well known man biter. I've said I think it's a bad idea to use Pit Bulls for man work, there's plenty of other breeds that are very capable of doing the job. 2 Quote Link to post

What mastiff I been around are like a collie in they put heckles up grow look nasty an old English one me mate had that could bark but they are looking nasty but really it’s nerves like most dogs because your near there property they are making there self big but don’t really want to attack and look at there heads proper power strong aswell then you get man biters they aren’t trying to warn you off they jumping in there skin to get hold of you you have a windy breed you put terrier into it same reason they put a terrier to a bulldog Quote Link to post

mC HULL 12,157
So the put a big bull dog over a terrier to make the terrier better or did the terrier have a heart of a lion and was game and the bull dog was lacking what the terrier had the size comes from the bull dog the gameness comes from a terrier a bull dog baited so did a bull and terrier cross how the f**k would a bull and terrier get down an hole a bulldog has nothing to add to a terrier for what a terrier does Quote Link to post

mC HULL 12,157
I’ve seen a few more than one mate see a good few mastiff x bull terrier aswell As you said the mastiff lacks drive for pp work a bull terrier sorts that because of the terrier mentality Has more drive or gameness same reason the put a terrier to a bull dog in the first place Quote Link to post
mC HULL 12,157
An old boy I new had Rhodesian ridgebacks they’d just hold you On command but you new they could do damage I turned when he was f***ing about dog just put it’s front legs on my shoulders and put my neck in it’s mouth with just a little bit a pressure He was creased up barmy old boy he was about 5 foot looking back if dog got him or decided to do more than hold someone he would a been able to do nothing lol Quote Link to post
