This was years ago and all illegal now. Quote Link to post

You say about the bull Russell hog dog Have you seen the oz foxy terriers vids on YouTube, they use them to hang off the snout I will take a look thanks.a 100 lb hog can flip a terrier 15 ft in the air. Some will continue to go for the snout. From what I seen dogs in general are born with a style in hog hunting meaning they will gravitate to a certain part of the hog.Nothing you can do to change it. Rickshaw swami 4,102
The founding fathers had foxhounds Quote Link to post
eastcoast 4,088
Seriously though it's an interesting subject. I don't think many breeds have the direct ancient lineage that some believe, or would have us believe, but the 'types ' have been around for a long time. 2 Quote Link to post

Plotts don't live to be old generally.Plottmen start the season with a dozen dogs.Sometimes they won't have but one by end of season but nothing gets away bear or hog.3 good bred plotts will stretch a medium sized black bear. But they will die for their efforts.Up until 10 years ago they had live bear baying competition in the Carolinas for plotts.Interesting breed to say the least. Me old uncle bubba used a single whippet 4 that lark Quote Link to post

JMc 226
See this lads dog a lot, thought I would put him on this thread as owner says he’s very good guard, real steady no dramatics but always puts himself between his owner and anyone he doesn’t recognise.Only photo I have of him but he looks stunning from any angle if you like that sort of thing,a true athlete,55lbs and his movement is effortless,10/11 years old, never seen a dog go through gears with power of this one, good breeding I guess.
