I know my dog is only a mix up of three breeds but some how she seems to balance them up very well. She sounds very similar in behaviour to your dog, what's in the breeding if you don't mind me asking? Mines not the most trust of everyone but as everyone who knows will tell you she's like jekel and hide. She's the loving family dog with family and friends, especially kids. But someone could kick off and she turns. Best bit is she reacts to the amount of aggression shown. If I walk her at night she goes straight in to guard mode in me village or town but if it's an elderly person walking towards us no matter how big they are she's OK same with a young lad say 13 but then someone else could come and she just changes. It's like she knows who I should b considering as a threat and warns. Unlike your dog tho she tends to go from carrying her head high to down low. Is this similar traits to bandogs? I would like the same in a dog but not sure if another dog would? Atb Criss 1 Quote Link to post

I had a bullterrier, wouldn't guard the house, loved everyone especially kids. It only happened a few times but on a walk he'd see someone from over 100 yards away or more, he'd go alert, kick up his back legs and let out a growl, it happened so rarely I trusted his judgement that it was a wrong un . Once had a row with a bloke walking his racing greyhounds "worth thousands mate" in the park, I had the bullterrier back on the lead and as he came towards me he let out the lowest growl i'd ever heard off him stopped the bloke in his tracks! Once you've a bond with your dogs i'd trust them to pick up on things i'd might not even notice, that sense they've got is amazing! ps as the bull terrier got older he still loved everyone except east European gypsies, man woman or child he'd show his dislike on the street or in the car, whether this was from them bin poking or picking something up from me or a natural reaction i'll never know. 2 Quote Link to post

I don't mind the bark cos it probably gets on the muslims and the romanian gypsies nearby nerves, if it was a little yappy thing it would probably do my nut in! Quote Link to post

That's my pit/am bulldog bitch out of the other pic.Just bathed her was rolling in dirt, but older now.She looks how she is,would take your calf muscle off if you approached. She's my ideal guard dog, ugly mean as shit and a dog no one would try to steal. On the other side, very loving to family and all other animals with no hunting instinct,so doesn't wander. 1 Quote Link to post
