I looked over a couple of his dogs at a show and noticed that they were piss stained all the way up to their chests.I was later told by a few different people that he keeps large numbers of dogs in crates laying in their own mess in his cellar. The day of the show i was told by a close friend that he went to a party afterwards and his dogs were locked in his car till midday the next day and he then got in his car and drove the 4hrs+ home and didnt even let them out to empty out .Unfortunately from what ive seen of the alapaha scene it is going the same way as the ABs did but faster. I looked at some of his pups he puts up for sale and they're all in cages he's just in it for the money like a lot of em sadly he was getting into pugs the last i heard some bullshit of pink ones he put a bulldog over a frenchie to get the merle then they're full pedigree frenchies carrying the fancy genes . That's the reason I tried getting as good as i could and at the time the pup I got was it the Yankee kennels didn't have any pups on or planned as we're busy with something else but if my bitch makes what she's supposed to in temperament and size does what I want her to do it'll be a trip to the states or a decent lump of money bringing a dog over to cover her.... He definitely won't be used to cover other lads dogs or advertised for stud i wanna keep the breeding close and get the proper type out of em anyone can say they're dog is of this and that but if all the time and effort pays off the you will spot them a mile off a lot look too much like the xl bully and English bulldogs short legged things itll be a couple of years yet til I get it all in motion but hopefully it all pays off 2 Quote Link to post

Back in the early 90s a pal of mine that used to come on here travelled around the southern states visiting different AB breeders including Alan Scott who we ended up having dogs directly from.Whilst staying with Alan he would go up the mountain at the back of his house and help feed the bulldogs that were all chained to trees with a barrel to sleep in and also help feed Alans catahulas that he had in big paddocks. After a few days Alan had to pop out one evening and my pal offered to feed the dogs whilst he was gone and Alan told him yeah go and feed the bulldogs as they'll be fine now theyve met you up tbere a few times but under no circumstances go in with the catahulas as they'll eat you.My pal said they were right nasty c**ts. 2 Quote Link to post

To be honest the show i was asked to judge i was shocked at the amount of over aggressive or nearvy dogs there and the owners seemed to think it was acceptable as the breed standard says can be aloof with strangers.Seen a lot with real dog aggresion problems to even with opposite sex and pups. I did hear on anot her forum that they are only to b kepy as working dogs and not house hold pets but he never said why. I can imagine for similar reason's. Someone was saying that they originally had native American breed blood in there make up as well as other breeds like a french breed. Not sure if true or one of those famous mythical tales you mentioned to make them stand out lol? I did read that native breeds remains tested showed that they was an ancient breed taken from Africa and Asia wit the natives to America. That must of added something serious to the breed! I prefer the Scott type that bit taller more athletic than the fat headed stumpy Johnson type no matter what dog i have it's gotta be able to come out with the lurchers just for the walk and to keep it for don't think a fat short legged one would cope haha 2 Quote Link to post
