Never done it but once many moons ago my dogs accidentally got a cat in a field back of some Bungalows a bloke ran out and set his dog on them it was on a long line thing he also done his very best 2 brain the pair of lurchers wi a right big stick the dogs had no problem avoiding his attempts and his dog whilst still finding time 2 rag at the long dead cat they wernt interested in the in the bloke or the dog but still never got a whack 

I think ud struggle if it were after ur bollox in all honesty

They only time you struggle mate is Bayers  the ones that go for your leg to pull you on the arse or to just sit baying I seen a few dogs knocked out once so a gypsy cob get a crack and have a wobble on it’s not hard to knock out a dog same as it’s not hard to break it’s ribs or drug it so in my head the barkers bayers are worth more then a quiet biter

Correct but a dog that is already barking when your 40 yds away make it a lot harder mate ie shepherd Mali

If its just a tickling how come there were shepherds and malis quiting left right and centre in fact Im not sure if a herder has ever placed top 5 in the AVD trials

If you want a dog to hold and keep taking a ticking of the stick without letting go should just use a bull terrier nothing beat it lol
