cat sightings

I'm not asking you to forego your beliefs or opinions and bits of paper with random qualifications which are neither here or there or those that profess to have seen fleeting glimpses of them. The question is do these thing exist or not ? They are flesh and blòod no different to anything else. They ain't ghosts. In places like America where they do exist they are reletively commonplace to see, hunt by trap or shoot and hounds put them up trees regularly. The base fact is that until such time as there is a real carcass available dead or alive for the public to see then as far as the idea that they are out there ranks alongside the yehti and loch ness monster in the context of the UK.  Look at the amount of blokes on this and other forums that are out there in the field like  some of the keepers on big shoots that are out there 24/7. I know some that have all the time, equipment and motive to deal with one or more if they show. Nothing. Well the only thing you hear is the time worn excuses. Like papers ect due to be delivered sometime. Show the goods now. We're not talking about state secrets here.  There a bloke who lives near me that carries on like this about wild boar. All smoke and mirrors, cloak and dagger stuff.

I,ve seen wild boar near me as well and been called a looney by the great white hunters like yourself for making such a claim this situation has gone on for almost two years but I feel I was vindicated recently when the police turned up at a friends farm and asked him if he,d lost any black hairy pigs as they had reports by six different people of a group running across a main road, just because a dumb animal has the ability to outwit you does not mean it does,nt excist, I,m not being cloak and dagger I just no my limitations so pass on what I find to those that have the ability to take it further, about half the reports I get each year are from keepers and deer stalkers so maybe it's just the company you keep, maybe turn the stereo down when your cruising the fields lamping, I don't know but as you,ve gone completely away from the subject you started IE how can they call themselves experts when we don't have any mountain lions here, which I think I answered quite well it's clear your more interested in getting likes and having a row than any proper discussion so I,ll bid you a good night ?

He said he has not interest in proving it, he knows what he saw but said he would gladly show me an let me know if see’s anythin else while working in the fields,  place he saw it was the border of a huge grouse moor, a load a pasture fields an a big ole fir plantation, so I doubt you’d see it again unless it was a pure fluke as that plantation is dense?

It's only the odd crank like me mate that sees one then has to spend half there life looking for more to prove it, sounds like an ideal place with food and cover in spade loads, if he does want hard proof just send off the coordinates to meece and  foxdropper as feck all escapes them two ???

You  misunderstand what this is all about.  I have no interest in likes and I don't do rows. There is a parallel cats thread that you have posted in numerous times.  The big cat sightings thread is nearly up to 154 pages with over 72 thousand views and 2287 replies. It has gone round and round with absolutely no proof at all. anyone can state that they have seen xyz but at some stage you have to produce solid evidence to support this. There's more evidence of father Chrismas than any big cats living in the countryside of the UK. If you've got this evidence, show us. Its quite simple.

also the bloke involved with the wild boar was always making out that he was the only one that knew of their existence and that he was working with EXPERTS and the government to control them. His attempt to control them was to go and photograph them at SECRET LOCATIONS and that soon a BIG report was going to be issued. This report is still waiting. so is everyone. The smaller one do eat nice though.  Im sure that we would all be interested in some factual evidence.

What got you into looking for them?

In the same month in 2015 I found a deer on the edge of a wood I,ve worked dogs over for 30 years it was in long grass was half eaten legs removed and had all the signs of a big cat kill you could even see an impression in the grass were something had lay down and ate it, then a few weeks later I was in Dorset and actually saw one working along a hedge, I went back to were I was staying and got my dogs, went back to the spot and saw a reaction from my fearless kill anything that moves dog that I,ve not seen before or since, as I,d heard loads of story,s and had a few mates that had seen them on the lamp over the years, plus I,m getting a bit old for the poaching and all the things I used to do are now illegal so thought why not, I still get the buzz of sneaking in and out of places I should,nt be without the risk of prosecution plus I love most things to do with nature and the cameras show you things you would never see, so it's a win win and even if I never get my chrystal  clear picture I,ve seen many brilliant things along the way to make it worth while, once a month when I,m changing sd cards it's like being a kid at Christmas ???

I wouldn't call it commonplace. I've yet to see one and I live in Catville. Agreed they're hunted and plentiful but in an area where they're not indigenous, they're not hunted, trapped, or shot, they're going to be much harder to quantify especially with the stigma associated with reporting them. The default setting is loony.

Again I'm sceptical about the population allegedly living in the UK but I'm very interested in reading the research when it's finally published and peer-reviewed.
