Democrats and Veterans - a new political party...

Recommended Posts

Small government, emphasis on independence and defence, value of democracy and justice, concerned about a lack of community and patriotism. They're making the right noises for me.

There's at least one bit of their manifesto I think is a bit sensationalist though and I'm always concerned that bold talking policies have a tendency to turn into authoritarian government.

I became aware of them yesterday in relation to talk about gun ownership.

The Democrats & Veterans will be broadly libertarian in character, and
will campaign fearlessly to uphold the rights of free speech and liberty of
conscience to say and think anything that is not seditious and does not incite
violence.

DVP will defend the right of religious adherents to criticise openly the beliefs
and practices of adherents of other religions, both in public places, and in
media.

DVP will defend the right to express antipathy to the culture, values, lifestyle
and philosophies of others.

DVP will campaign to challenge the inclusion of words in our statutes which
are deliberately vague and open to widespread interpretation and which have
in the past allowed convictions that clearly prohibit freedom of speech and
liberty of conscience, such as the use of the word ‘insulting’.

The devil is in the detail (bold above) but I like the fact they value it.

that party will start out like old labour from the 70s then end up run by libtards even using the word HIJACKED by the extremest left then ruined by the same policies and limp wristed leaders running the modern labour party. they need a set of values true to keeping britain british in their constitution which cant be changed to stop the hijacking of any working mans party. especially to protect us native brits and we should always come before the terminally offended minorities. this is after all great britain, not some dumping ground for the shite of the 3rd world
