Arry 23,632
I was at school in the 50s and 60s didn't like the dinners much, the dinner lady's used to ladle the sloppy mince meat on to the plate it looked like a cow pat. The butter beans were like wood (still can't eat them to this day), Liver was like leather. Used to eat it as wasn't getting another meal. Used to like them little bottles of milk though and remember the caretaker would drink one down in a oner used to fascinate us kids how he could do that Lol. I saw a news report earlier in the week, growing meat in a lab,the scientists said it can be grown in a space a 10'th the size a cow needs,he predicted its the future, lab grown meat, better for the environment,no methane emmited. A lot of my old mates ended up the same. Parenting has a fuuck load to do with it but not everything mate. I was robbing woollies as a kid (9-10ish) too (sweets, etc) once got caught pilfering Rio snaps or whatever they were called, I pulled the box out of my pocket, on the shop floor, opened them up in front of the security guard who's just nabbed me, all the while saying "look I'm just looking" (even back then I had a quick mind and the gift of the gab ) then launched the entire wee bag of bangers on the floor thinking I was some sort of fuucking ninja and ran like fuuck............. and that was the end of my career as a thief! 1

Nature versus nurture,i am glad you were caught, not in a bad way,but it curtailed your short but sweet shoplifting career and set you on the straight and narrow

This was the days when security guards couldn't catch the drips of piss from staining their pants..... nah the bugger spotted me in town with me mam and bee lined to grass me up.... It was the pasting I got in the middle of town and then again at home off my dad that put me off....... as the belt went across my head I remember thinking very clearly "nah this ain't for me"

stumfelter 3,034
It was boom or bust for me, a group of us used to toss 2p's against a wall and nearest wins. Dinner money was 12p and if you scooped everybody's you were loaded, lose and you went hungry!
