There'll be 10 times the amount of black terriers that are good workers, to chocolate ones, how you gonna know if you only pick by colour? And there are plenty of people that do, possibly one of the reasons that there's so much shit about these days Well if he has a full kennel of chocolate he doesn’t have to worry about only keeping chocolate pups from a litter. Because it’s not genetically possible to get anything thing else only chocolate pups chocolate x chocolate every pup in the litter will be chocolate. 1 Quote Link to post

Produced a chocolate dog. That went over the bitch from the chocolate line lol, only chocolates in the litter, no blacks, if there was blacks in the litter then id of kept them. Not rocket science 1 Quote Link to post

white van man 3,289
Anyway.........back to the topic! I have thought about this type of cross for hunting in the hills but I think they are not that common. The dogs that DC bred look spot on. How would they be for all round lurcher work? Lamping etc. Wouldn’t question the stamina but what about speed? Would too much hound risk them giving a bit of voice? Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 44,966
Never heard one open up myself, depends on the land you run and hunt, so maybe not for everyone. But more than capable as an all rounder. Quote Link to post
white van man 3,289
Cheers DC. Like you say, not for everyone but for some people they would be just the job. Type of hunting I would like to get into when I have more time. Quote Link to post

Thats madness imo, i was talking about dogs bred down from generation to generation of grafters its no garantee but id feel a whole lot better having a pup from such a litterif they bred right then colour is a personal preference, and should come second imo to working ability of the parents, grand parents etc. There will always be pups that stand out in litters, dont meen they gonna be the best Makes sense but we all like a looker, depends whether you know a dog or not?
