Imo the most 'wow' you can get for your money is with the mark one eyeball in an area with little light pollution and cloud.

Not that that should stop anyone getting into astronomy. Just depends what their objectives are from it is my point I think.

We've been very happy with our choice of Vortex binoculars at this point but my sons have all download skywatcher type apps onto their Android devices and it's making the process a lot of fun.

I don't mind having a punt on something decent but the idea of dropping a lot of money into something that could be used to hang coats over makes me hang back a bit a research a little further.

True but our beloved president is ensuring that that market should be limited in favour of other manufacturers. :thumbs:
