Otters, increasing everywhere, even on my local river which I frequent very regularly, and I've never seen one. And people doubt that big cats can go undetected in this country lol

I very well know otters are indigenous to the uk, and even at their lowest numbers, they still would've been far more common than non indigenous big cats. I, and almost every person I know, have NEVER seen a wild otter, and only  two people I know, one a part time bailiff on the taff, has only seen two, in about 10 years, the other, sadly passed away a couple of years ago, general countryman and superb angler, that fished the taff all his life, saw one, about 6 years ago.

IF there are big cats living wild in britain, there aint going to be that many of them for obvious reasons, and they certainly wouldn't be seen anywhere near as often as smaller indigenous wildlife.

The reason there are so many dead on roads and being seen by people is there has been a massive breed and release program running,in 4/5 years when they have naturalised again and the dumber ones are kerbside the sightings will tale off considerably

I,ve seen six dead ones, three had drown after being released on a shipping canal which they could not get out of once they were in though the few native ones that have been there for years come in and out through small tributaries that join it, have seen 4 live ones and found one holt sorry no pics though I have got one camera out on a river I,ve seen a fresh  Spraint so maybe soon though it’s been up for a week and my daughter checked it yesterday and hadn’t turned it on

Was just being facetious mate . Been out and about in the countryside all my life, and still haven't seen certain things that some people have seen, even though they've spent probably less than a hundredth the amount of time in the countryside than I have. And that's the point I've been trying to make. 

My 1st job, trainee underkeeper. 2nd job pest control. Kept and worked lurchers since the 70's, lived all my life surrounded by fields, woods etc. Fished the same river, taff, off and on for forty years, day and night, which has otters on, and I've still not seen one otter

We used to catch em but the bucket full as kids but the council turnt the one place we found them into grassland. I don't mean like a meadow either but short lawn type
