Terry Ermann 994
Reading the article it says the figures come from people out birdwatching Now I’m in no doubt whatsoever that throughout the uk rabbit numbers are down as a rabbit hunter myself I am noticing this however I don’t believe there is any cause for alarm. There are always cycles in population and in a few years time I’m confident there will be rabbits everywhere again.
Gav 1,708
I'd say the numbers are up here, I've seen an definite increase. There are no predators here though, they did away with the mink and we never had fox so only the eagles are a natural predator. We'll have to round them up and ship them back over to the mainland. I fully agree with you regarding natural cycles, but man has attempted to wipe out bunny almost since they were brought here for food, I watched a program recently were they said there were now two new viruses wiping them out as well as mixy, round here the exploding badger population continues to wipe out more big buries every year so I do think mans influence is breaking natures cycle which is alarming as many animals depend on the rabbit for there survival and an eco system without its main food supply is pretty fecked, hope I ,m wrong

Lazy greedy government and councils need to get a grip and employ council workers to get rid of weeds ect by a bit of graft with a shovel If they saying they can't afford it get offenders back on community service doing it or long term unemployed doing a Day per week for their benefits ect. stumfelter 3,034
I think the decline in rabbits is down to people who use fast dogs like greyhounds etc to chase and catch them. I have heard they also use high powered lamps at night to blind the rabbits to make them easier to catch and they call it sport. What is going on in their twisted minds?

Deker 3,478
Why would anyone worry, the Government has been trying to get rid of rabbits forever and we are still legally obliged to control them.
