rimmer 33
Hi all, just brought a wildcat to go on a Sako 85 223 anyone tell me there thoughts on this model. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Depends what model wildcat you have. I have the predator P8 on my 223. It's a quite bulky but does a good job of noise suppression. It's a doddle to strip and clean too. Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
It's an evolution. I had a pet on the old Sako which weighed a ton Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I have a P8 Compact on my .223, .243 and .308. They are still quite bulky but work pretty well, and as walshie says, they are easy to strip/clean. Parts are also easy to obtain so you can change the baffle stack to another caliber if required, etc., Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
Lol pez Quote Link to post
Stavross 15,162
Had a wildcat on a .243 it looked like a Pringles can but did it’s job very well, it’s the one on my profile pic Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
I have been using my pez for 15 or 16 years so it's going to be nice to have something a tad lighter, the pez does a great job though. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
There you go, the P8 Compacts, the P8 still sells well but the Evolution is making a mark, not as good all round I understand but should be just fine on a .223. Your views on it after a while would be appreciated! Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
I have a job to do on Wednesday which will be this rife and mods first so will let you know what I think. Quote Link to post

You're probably right, but the guns work so I have no need to change them and don't often get them all out together to take a new pic! 1 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Got the evolution on this T3l , seem ok to me but I've never had any thing else but I would like to ask , what's the best stuff to get to clean them , carbon mainly mines a sod to get spotless Atb lads Quote Link to post
andyf 144
Hi: Had a Predator 8 on my .270 for years. Yes they are a bit bulky, but work extremely well, .270 is a beast well tamed (it needs to be). With the strip down facility on balance probably one of the most practical available. Newer versions are 'prettier' other brands definitely look nicer (Hardy Gen 2 on my 22.250). But it does what it says on the tin very well. AF Quote Link to post
andykllhr 91
I had a wildcat whisper on my .22 annie when I first got it, looked the part but was really ineffective, still had a loud crack out of the muzzle, shame. From the reviews on .17HMR and up they're supposed to be good though Quote Link to post
rimmer 33
Well I put the first 30 rounds through the wildcat and I have to say it was very good being so lite I thought it would be a tad louder, it is of course not quite as good as the pez but the weight difference more than makes up for it. I also expected more muzzle flip but it seems to have tamed that too, my old sako was balanced to counter the weight of the pez which meant without it is got a fair muzzle flip but this new 85 is a lot better and the wildcat seems to match the rifle well. All in all I'm well happy. 1 Quote Link to post
