At the end of the day you have to go where the game is :thumbs:

Im just a free loader who tags along, all credit has to really go to Chester and Snoop, 2 more genuine dog lads you would struggle to find, they both work hard for a living and put the miles in travelling to find work for their dogs when they get time off, weekends etc. Theyre doing it, not talking about it.

Happy New Year lads :drink::toast:

we are the free loaders its your vast permision we are on and long may it continue .and a happy new year to you miss M :drink::drink::drink:

the best way to find out where the whities are is to get on them moors and look for them .... :thumbs: ....some people spend years looking and searching for the best places for the quarry .wether it be white hares, brown hares rabbits deer .ect ect ...i have a good couple of places for lamping and daytime bushing rabbits but one off the places has been heavly hit with mixy and the other has been hit time and time again by other folk ...some of which might be by the people i took there ....ive got more places ..but i still need to find a couple more now and how i will do that is by walking ...talking to locals and asking for perrmission .it all takes time but theres nothing like finding a hot spot for what ever you run :D i have found most of my best places for game,, by getting out and doing it,, some nights and days ive walk for miles and not seen a thing other times ive found plenty in a few hundreds yards of walking ....why should they just come out and tell somebody else ... :blink: ........if you truley love this hard but most enjoyable sport or passion what ever you choose to call it ....you will get out and do it ..... :thumbs: ....unless of course you are lucky enough to get an invite .... :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: ..which will proberly only happen if you are trusted and reconised that you have true comitment to this most testing and head doing sport :whistling: ...but also most rewarding and buzzing thing you can ever do ....... :D:D ..all the best and happy new year to yer all ....snoop :D

Aye I have noticed the numbers dont seem to be as prolific as say 10 years ago, I have also noticed that the landscape appears to be changing, there doesnt seem to be as much heather as there used to be, I have a theory which is basically this, when the older generation of keepers was on there they kept the balance of nature much better. In recent years they are all retiring or moving on and its all young gung ho chaps who are out all the time blasting feck out of the hares to just throw them in middens or use them as bait for snares or traps, when a rabbit would do the job instead and I also think they are burning feck out of the heather and letting the fires go a bit crazy. I dont have any proof of this of course its just my theory but I can remember years ago being able to pick and choose what hares you ran as they were so plentiful. I heard they shot 300+ last season, those Italians come over and shoot everything that moves, then the hares are shipped abroad to game dealers. Wouldnt like to carry 300+ :icon_eek: carrying 10 is hard enough work :laugh:
