David.evans 5,323
Pulsar 870/970 imo is more than good enough for any type of shooting if you've got the right ir on board . I.e. Ward b 501 ruby sun pill. , I ant joking 600 yards easy with spot on recognized target thermal , all the way if you've got a gold pot under your bed ( but why ) don't know why Jon it gives you a head ache , Plus the range finder is invaluable at nite you might get a n870 for 700/750 these days and really it's hard to miss almost like cheating ( sure shot ) atb lads 2 Quote Link to post

walshie 2,804
A bad workman always blames his tools. Having said that, when I used a thermal spotter recently, that made me feel a bit dizzy. When I looked up at the sky without the spotter with one eye it looked dark purple and with the other eye it looked normal. Using both eyes made me feel wobbly till my eyes got adjusted again. I think I had the spotter too bright. Quote Link to post

I think I had the spotter too bright. Yes, that's kind of it. I don't know why it happens. Maybe because I like to shoot with both eyes open and, I'm not trying hard enough to change to scoped NV. Maybe I'm just wired wrong for it to suit me? Feck knows I think I'm just going to go for some good old fashioned lamping Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I think it's because your pupils are different sizes due to one being subjected to bright light and the other not. Once they both adjust to the same size you feel fine. Or you're a fanny. One of the two. Quote Link to post
philpot 5,039
In some ways I am pleased that I cannot afford to buy a high end NV or thermal as I really would not know what to go for BUT as the pension pot ensures I cannot, I am very happy to stick with my two Nitesite units and despite how crap some people think they are, I still shoot plenty of rabbits and rats with them so they work for me. I do confess that if money allowed, a thermal spotter would be in my bag for certain. Also a huge help to find the bloody rabbits when they have been shot ................................... I lose quite a lot. Phil 1 Quote Link to post

Phil Mitch would say the nitesite is crap unless he had one then it would be the bee,s knee,s Some of us cant afford a top of the range nv and have to do with what we can get for the little money we have and if he saw PAV shoot with the photon on my hw100 like i did then i think he may change his mind about them the man never missed one rabbit with the photon on the 100 it was a pleasure to watch him . and unlike the n870 there is no range finder built in to it like i say,d lads like me and you phil just have to do with what we can and what works for us . not all of us have ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ in the bank and drive Bentley.s atvbjimmy 1 Quote Link to post
