Couple of hours with the nitesite

Well had a couple of hours out last night with the nitesite rtek viper, great bit of kit but not really liking it, thinking of getting shut and getting a photon, that watching a screen is uncomfortable and lights up my face even tho I have a cap and veil over my face, but it did put another two bunnies in the bag, those jsb heavies give a right wallop when they hit...

The light from those screens is a real drag. You turn it off after peering at it for 5 minutes and find yourself blind in the dark.

Been thinking about getting some of those gel filters in red or green, to fix over the screen and calm it down a bit.

i actually like NS - I've been using a Viper for around 4yrs.

I find a cap and veil is a must because of the screen - I've found that using mine on full power to scan for rabbits then, turning it down and using the edge of the screen to stalk in works quite well.

 

With the kit set up on a full length HW100, A shooting stick comes in very handy.

 

Which ever way you go - Enjoy it mate

Like you  Phil, I like to get my eye on the scope, watched a rabbit watching me trying to put a cross hair on it when I had a go with one of these units, good job the rabbit was patient.

I was lucky that I know my RFD so well - I got him to rob that stock off another 100 for me when I bought it.

Photon will be worse than you have now , horrible unit  and that comes from someone who hates TV screen NV units 

I still say the new addon from CRS are far better than Photon and nightshite NV builds and cheaper but not all scopes ,specially most top end scopes will not work with them
