10 months now. The bitch pup I kept on the right, the dam on the left. She's smaller than her mum, about 21", ideal for me and really happy with her. I see a couple of other litter mates and

Hi All,

My bitches season has sprung up on me and I want to get her covered.

Ideally looking for a Whippet X Greyhound.

Whippet size rather than Greyhound, 20-21" would be perfect.

Many thanks

Matt

Why not go for a straight whippet mate? Plenty around that size. Think you'd be hard pushed to find a whippet x greyound dog that size. Most first cross dogs I've seen, have been 23 - 25 tts

You're probably right to be fair.

The bitch is 24, ideally want to breed something a touch smaller, only really do rabbits

Thanks

Any suggestions?

She's a bit of all sorts

Sire - Beddy x Whippet X Deerhound x Greyhound

Dam - Collie x Bull x Greyhound

Great rabbiter, lamp and ferreting.

Not much killer instinct but doesn't bother me for what I do

Well if you only bother with rabbits, I'd definetly go for a straight whippet. That'd be my choice. And if she's already in season, you'll probably have a greater chance of putting a whippet, over her. Some cracking whippets around at moment. Have a look on the 'whippets, coursing, racing, working' thread. Cracking dogs, and some good knowlegeable owners. Good luck fella ?

It’s been suggested a straight whippet, it would deffo help keep the size down which you say you are after. With so many breeds in the mix I think a grew would give you more chance of throwing bigger pups with the greyhound influence from the grew combined with the deerhound and greyhound influence in your bitch.
