Underdog 2,337
I have always used a lamp to spot and stalk fox's with. Usually works fine but every now and then I get a clever one. I am wondering if I can use a night vision to stalk with until time to shoot and if so how cheaply can it be done with something that will cover 200yds? Thanks. U. shovel leaner 7,650
I would recommend a thermal spotter, and night vision scope . I would also say that you get what you pay for . The cheaper entry level gear doesn’t perform like the more expensive items . I know guys who use those add on screens and swear by them , you can buy them fairly cheaply. Also a digital spotter shouldn’t set you back too much . But I always say “if you buy cheap you buy twice “ . Have a look at what thermal imaging is capable of before you buy something you may wish to replace before too long . I like you was a lamp man and thought all this new gear was a gimmick. I was wrong, I wouldn’t go out now without my thermal and night vision, it’s that good ! So go on U , get that big lump out from under your mattress, and spend a few bob , you can’t take it with ya . They don’t sew pockets into shrouds !!! Edited August 1, 2018 by shovel leaner 1 1

I will need you to set up a wire transfer of monies to my account in Zimbabwe this is to pay off the corrupt port officials then you can get your share of all these millions I’ve got . Underdog 2,337
Thanks friends. I am going to have to ponder this some more ( the lump under the bed is not very big at all) and agree that saving up for night sight and spotter is the way forward. As I can usually stalk with in rimfire range maybe my lamp can still act as a spotter! Thanks again. U.

Spot em with thermal then Shoot em with NV is a good combo . But the thermal scopes have the edge for sure if money is not an object and you’ve got a big lump under the mattress !
