waltjnr 6,860
He has educational weaknesses, but obviously has strengths in other areas, practical skills, surely if encouraged to progress in these areas, he's confidence would grow and put him in a better place to tackle hes dislexia?

They're being taking to court in three weeks. He needs a brief that specialises in these cases.
Foxpack 2 7,852
He is unreal at fixing moterbikes etc. Loves it. Mountain bikes he can strip and remake no probs. Set gears up etc. My Mrs keeped me in the dark. As she thought I was stressed enough with work. But I feel terrible that they couldn't talk to me. But she insisted that she deals we kids to do with school etc. But my Mrs is dropping to bits with worry.
Jonjon79 13,358
As said, do make sure that you get proper help. Also put together as much info as you can about the lads struggles, truancy, upheaval of moving school and, about his progress on the work placement - see if they'll give a reference on his attendance and behaviour. Let them know about your daughter so that they can see that you're not a 'Don't give a shit' parent. If you get the chance, let the court know that you know that your boy isn't cut out for mainstream education and, make it clear that his behaviour and the court case has had an effect on your missus. Also, it wouldn't hurt to ask the court for recommendations for help - they'll appreciate the sentiment and, they might just come up with something good. Good luck to you both and, to your boy

He needs a brief that specialises in these cases and pretty damn quick. Anyone reading have any recommends through personal experience rather than intensive internet research? And she's frightened in case one of us get sent away. We are both hard working parents. Just in a bit of a pickle.

I reckon they probably reserve the fines and prison time for the council estate chavs that constantly make no effort to straighten out their kids mate. ........ I can't see a judge handing that out to a regular family that are trying - especially if they can see it'll have a detrimental effect.
Kerny92 1,246
Just say he's a gender free Muslim and they will stay well clear of him......... In all seriousness though is that how strict the laws have become, i used to truant quite often in the last couple of years at school and can't remember anything serious as punishment. How the hell can they fine or imprison you ffs? If a kid don't want to go to school a parent can't really make them at the end of the day. But the lad feels alone. And he classes himself as thick. So school etc is a nightmare. My Mrs also came to conclusion. If he's off she knows his safe. But as I've said this other spot gives him one to one and gives him time. And he loves it. But to little eto late.

Arrange for him to get a work placement, apprenticeship maybe working towards a qualification... They happy to bend over backwards for some kid to change gender..... Poor kids not happy in a classroom, shouldn't be forced to go to school if he struggling imo. Tell the cheeky cnuts you get him a home tutor for English math etc. Government are some clowns..... Send parents to jail and cause a family that much heartache.....out of touch fantasists. Proper cnuts. Hope you get it resolved with your lads needs being the priority
