You should have seen the state of my mate when he realised he had to go to jail, had to be seen to be believed.

Shouting, cursing, refusing the offer of food and drink.

I'll never play monopoly with him again.

Judge Dredd style lol

I wonder how the crime figures have actually performed in PI after Duertes purging :hmm:

I guess a lot depends on how you view crime. Looking at what he's doing I'd say the crime of murder has gone through the roof but because the state is sponsoring them it isn't considered criminal despite depriving his citizens of due process.

It does bring up an interesting topic though. An annual Hollywood style purge.

Murders, unsolved ones, have spiked, but if you want to do research then do so through independent non-pinoy news sources,in the PI they write what they are told, the Philippines is in the top four countries where journalism in a risky business.Duterte was all smoke and mirrors, mainly dirt poor being wiped out,the rich who were flooding the country with shabu remain largely untouched,in the PI money talks, one british citizen maria Moynihan daughter of the notorious Lord Moynihan was found dumped in a manila street a few years ago shot a number of times, manila is a total shithole, not the sort of place to chill out nowadays.

You're right he does deserve that. But it should be part of the actual sentence, not at the will of the prison service. Corruption is never a good thing and that's exactly what were talking about.

I think for me , loss of liberty would be a terrible punishment. Also being locked up with the witless and the unlucky . The prisons I would guess are populated to a large degree by people with drink / drug problems, learning difficulties. Or just idiots who don’t think the law applies to them . But we have all I’m sure done things that in retrospect were stupid and could have potentially landed us with a stretch at her majesty’s . I watched a program not too long ago about a guy being hit outside a nightclub and died . I know I had a few tear ups when I was young and could have easily ended up in that situation. I know people who have been to prison who just made a bad decision, and it cost them , they would not deserve a brutal beating . I hope some of the “hangem all” brigade don’t make a bad decision or have a lapse of judgement.
