With you Tomo on that big well done to Hamilton. Seemed all about tyres yesterday, I'd like to see better tyres and more racing myself and no tyre changes when you have a safety car, just more racing. Shame about Ricardo always smiling would have like to see him on the podium, but the Renaults seem to be getting better if they can get the reliability right. socks 32,253
Hamilton is an exceptional driver and has matured a lot over the last few years ... I hope he goes on to at least equal Schumacher’s record .........

When you look at the differences in times between all the teams it’s down to a sec a lap and between the top teams it’s hundreds of a sec this surely is were the drivers make the difference. When Hamilton joined Mercedes they wasn’t the top team but with there technical improvements and his driving they have become the team to beat . It then needs the other teams not only to match the technical side but match the driving skills and at the moment Hamilton is without doubt the best .When you consider Botas has exactly the same tech as Hamilton but seldom beats him and is often beaten by Ferrari and Red bull ..The amount of times Hamilton has taken pole this year by a hundredth of a sec speaks volumes about his ability and temperament . I agree, but that's basically what the F1 supremos have in mind. ALL the F1 Drivers are good, put the worst in the best car and he is likely to do well, put the best in the worst car and if the CAR is 1sec off the pace he is never going to make up that second. 1 sec a lap means over a minute a race, that is Massive! That means the best driver may not be that successful, it has arguably happened in the past but put the best driver in the best car and Eureka! Teams have a No1 and No 2 driver/car, it is well known that the best resources go to the No1 driver/car, so the number 2 driver may be as good as the No1 (not often) but is unlikely to beat him through the season as his car will be marginally 2nd! Then you add team orders, which were illegal in the rules until a few years back (but we all saw). Historically and currently, the best teams/cars tend to attract the best drivers...and so the cycle continues. F1 has broadly been a procession for years, despite F1 itself messing with the rules non stop to try and get a bit more competition going on!
