I agree, it isn't simply down to population, the fact is that England have the most expensive league in the world, we play football at schools, in the street, have all sorts of academy's and leagues all over the place, and are the home of football.

So with all that and 13x the population of Croatia why can't we play football?

I thought that England did a lot better than expected. I gave the country a bit of a lift and feel good factor while it lasted. But if we didn’t win it this time we never will . Who did we play and beat? . Tunisia , Panama , lost to Belgium , beat Columbia and Sweden . We dodged all the “good” sides , Germany, Spain , Brazil, Argentina . I think that the lads can feel proud of the way they played, and Gareth Southgate is just about forgiven for missing that penalty. But I’m kind of glad we went out last night , cos we would probably have lost to the bloody frogs in the final and as an Englishman that would have been unbearable !!!

true, thats what got most  English people  down , like you say it was now or never , best route   to the finale  we was ever going to get  , and blew it  1st 1/2    kane should have scored and sterling ,  to kill the game off , they didnt it   , and threw the game away  2nd 1/2 . and more salt in the wounds when we play Belgium  and loose  we  come 4th  best  . anyway  my team WOLVES    start there  run in top flight football this season looking forward to that, hope they get  the same luck as England   got in this tournament  you always  need bit of luck in  any sport  more so at high level .
