Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Got to agree with Downsouth, even if it's a case of paying £20 extra a month who cares? If dogs really mean that much then it won't matter. What can you get with £20 nowadays? A takeaway? A crate of cans? A couple of boxes of fags? 2 Quote Link to post

starting out 2,533
flesh with a handful of biscuits , all do well on it . I think for most it will depend on whats available or how much effort you want to put in to get them what they need 2 Quote Link to post
dillydog 8,467
Just had a call off the slaughter house, a few trays of beef offcuts, chicken legs and ankles, beefburgers and bones. Keep your face in with them and every now and then they'll have a clear out of freezer burned beef and so on. Two big bags of all sorts today, a picture to give you an example of what's there Edited July 6, 2018 by dillydog 9 Quote Link to post

dillydog 8,467
Plenty of it too, anything over or a bit fatty goes over the fence for the local fox population. It doesn't matter how much I put there they take the lot, the fox, crow, buzzards and magies. 1 Quote Link to post

I find that too much liver has...... unpleasant consequences, shall we say. All mine (including the good lady's 3kg Chihuahua !) are fed chicken and tripe, supplemented with meaty bones 2 or 3 times a week or so, but I'll add in lamb ribs, a couple of sardines or a couple of raw eggs each once a week, as well as anything going cheap in the supermarket. A little handful of plain mixer finishes it from nicely. I've never thrown a scrap of it away, and they turn their noses at any sort of commercial dog food ! Edited to add - we chuck in a bit of veg matter. Grated broccoli stalks or carrots are favourites, but they'll have apple or cabbage leaves quite happily ! 1 Quote Link to post

Shovel shy 4,033
I can go to the local knackery and get a couple barrells of meat for a few euro. They stopped it a few years back so we applied for a licence. It just gets weighed and logged how much ye get. Best move I made. 2 Quote Link to post

It pays to keep your face in, there's a few other lads that keep their dogs fed because of this place, you've got to be quick lol Quote Link to post
