You must have had the only one that worked, it was pants, that's why so much of it got changed! In fairness, I understand the newer version is a very different beast, but I have no experience of it! A few of us had the old ultras and we all loved them ,the cocking is not to everybody's likening but I found it not to be a problem . I did get advised by one of the well known tuners not to sell it as he thought they were better than the SE , I wished I took his advice now . Just look at my early posts and see what the ultra had taken Quote Link to post

Just look at my early posts and see what the ultra had taken A few of us had the old Ultra and hated them, as I've said, mine spent more time at BSA than with me, we can go round and round with this, I have already accepted yours appears to have worked ok, mine seriously didn't. Whatever you want to say it changes nothing about the heap of junk I had called an Ultra!! Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Falcongit had one of the early Ultra's, push, pull, twist, lift to reload, and my HW100kt only just shaded it, would have bought one in 1.77 for ratting, good barrels, but, just a lot to fanny about with to load. Str 793
Thanks everyone for your input,I’ve been have a good look round and a pcp rifle with scope & bottle is not cheap so I am going to get a springer most lightly a hw77 ,yes it’s heavy and I wanted light but it’s just for summer rabbits in spots I can’t use the shotgun. tomburras 2,730
Hi Str if you change your mind and decide on s pcp and need some way to fill it look at this, I baught this for 40 odd pounds and it is spot on.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273134201692 Comes with spare seals and fills my rws excalibure in 80-90 pumps. Iv decided not to bother with my heavy dive bottle anymore and just use this. Once the feet are folded up it takes up hardly any room in the car boot either. 1 1 Quote Link to post

tomburras 2,730
It is Str it's shocked me. It has water inside to keep it cool and pumps my guns up with ease. On this one even the gauge is oil filled and glows in the dark. If you want a pcp then get that pump and bide your time and snatch up a second hand pcp full set up like this.... https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/air-rifles/gamo/pre-charged-pneumatic/22/coyote-180619145800061 Some sellers will post but if not a drive to a good gun at a good price is worth it. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,037
I think the pump is a great idea if you want to incorporate a fitness training programme into the rifle filling, sort of dual action self harm ........................... I'm a fat ole tart so give me a bottle any day of the week. If you want to splash some cash, check out this FX pump up rifle but it will not fit your description as cheap !! http://www.fxairguns.com/rifle/the-independence/ Whatever you get, enjoy.
